NOTE: This document clearly shows a relationship between James Moffet, William Moffet of Cartronlebagh and Thomas Moffet of Kilmore. It remains uncertain if James Moffet is father of the other two, or a brother to them.

A Memorial of an indented deed of Lease dated the eighteenth of June one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty made between Robt. Clemt. Kennedy of Mullo in the County of Longford Esqr. of the one part James Moffit & Wm. Moffitt of Kilmore in the parish of Clongesh & County of Longford farmers of the other part witnesseth that the said Robt. Clement Kennedy for the consideration therein mentiond hath demised granted set and to farm, Let unto the said Jas. Moffit & Wm. Moffit their executors, administrators and assigns all that and those the Town & Lands of Cartronlebagh situate lying and being in the Barony & Co. of Longford, To hold for and during the Lives of the said James Moffet, Wm. Moffet & John Moffet Eldest Son of Thos. Moffet of Kilmore aforesd. & the Longest Liver of them at the yearly rent of forty-five pounds Ster. payable half yearly which said Lease is witnessed Richard Court of Longford aforesd. Mercht., & John McCrilly of Cartron in the said County Gent. & this memorial is also witnessed by the saids Richd. Court & Alexander Crookshank of the City of Dublin Gent. -

To the Registrar appointed by Act of Parliament for Registering deeds and so forth. A memorial of an indenture of lease bearing date the 17th day of January 1792 and made between Henry Shaw of Ballynakill in the County of Longford, Farmer, of the one part, and Alexander Moffett & James Moffett both of Cloonmore in the said County, Farmers of the other part whereby the said Henry Shaw for the consideration in said lease mentioned did demise grant set and to farm let unto the said Alexander Moffett and James Moffett all that and those that part of the lands of Ballynakill commonly known by the name of Ballinakill then in the posession of the said Henry Shaw containing 75 acres and 2 roods be the same more or less situate lying and being in the Barony of Moydow, County of Longford aforesaid to hold unto the said Alexander and James Moffett their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns for and during the lengths of time and space of 41 years from the first day of November last past or for and during the natural life of the aforesaid James Moffett or whichever of them shall continue the longest provided the lives mentioned in the grant lease of Ballynakill shall continue as and under the yearly rent of £57 10s and payable half yearly with clauses of distress and or reentry and other costs as common between landlord and tenant which said indenture of lease is witnessed by Thomas Ross and William Moffett both of the County of Longford aforesaid and this memorial is witnessed by the said Thomas Ross and Miles Moran of the City of Dublin, Gent, one of the Attorneys

Henry Shaw (seal). Signed and sealed by the above named Henry Shaw in the presence of Thomas Ross and Miles Moran. The above named Thomas Ross maketh oath that he saw the above named Henry Shaw duly execute the indenture of lease whereof the above writing is a memorial and also the said Henry Shaw sign and seal, this memorial and that he this deponent is a subscribing witness to said lease and memorial and that the name Thomas Ross duly subscribed as a witness to said lease and memorial is this deponent's name and in his own proper handwriting of Thomas Ross.

Deed of David Moffett of Bunacly to William Wilson - 1777

A Memorial of an Indented Deed of Assignment made the 24th day of June one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven between David Moffett of Bunnacly in the Parish of Killashe in the County of Longford of the one part and William Wilson of Cloncoose in the Parish of Templemichael and County aforesaid of the other part reciting as therin is recited and witnesseth that the said David Moffet for the consideration therein mentd hath granted, bargained , sold, transferred, and assigned and made over unto the said William Wilson and to his heirs all that and those one forth part of the town and land of Deriadd containing thirty seven acres three roods and fourteen perches be the same more or less in as full and ample a manner as the said Wm Wilson and Jno(John) Shaw now hold the same which said premises are situate in the Barony of Moydow and County of Lonford aforesaid to the said Wm.Wilson his heirs and assigns from the first day of May last past for and during the natural life and lives of the said David Moffett son to Thomas Moffet of Killmore in the County of Longford , George Wilson son the said William Wilson and Alexr McCord brother to the said David McCord and the survivor of them subject to one fourth of the yearly rent and the Covts. in the lease in said deed recited contained which sd. deed and this memorial are witnessed by Jno Frazer and Henry Shaw both of the Parish of Killashee in the County of Longford , Farmers, William Wilson - Seal.
Signed, Sealed and Delivered in the presence of John Frazer, Henry Shaw, the abovenamed.

Duly execute the above mentioned deed whereof the above writing is a memorial sayeth he also saw the above named William Wilson duly sign and sealthe said memorial and sayth that the name Henry Shaw subscribed as a witness to the said deed and Memorial is this Dept. proper name and handwriting . Thomas Moffet deed 1761

From the Index of Lands for Clonmore, Index # 241/100/157151, there is on 15 Dec 1761 an indented lease between Thomas Moffitt of Kilmore, Co. Longford, farmer, and Thomas Tenison, Dunleer, Co. Louth, Prime Sergeant at Law, Alan Bellingham of Castle Bellingham, Co. Louth and William Sloane of Bloomsbury Sq., London.

In the lease the latter parties demised to sd. Thomas Moffett that part of the lands of Cloonmore Lower then in the possession of Sd. Thomas of 35 acres 1 rood and 34 perches, in the Barony of Moydow, for the lives of John Moffett, eldest son; Alexander, second son and William Moffett, third son at £20. 7. 9. annually.

Memorial of an indented deed bearing date the 6th day of April1 1784 made between the Revd Robert Moffett of Caraganin the County of Longford Clerke of the first part, Jemna Moffet otherwise Bernard wife of the said Robert Moffet of the second part and John Hamilton of Crust in the Co of Longford aforesaid and Thomas Bernard of Castletown in the Kings County, Esq. of the third part whereby after reciting as therein is recited the said Robert Moffett in consideration. of the sum of five shillings sterling in the 3nd deed mented. and for the other consons. in the said Deed set forth did grant, release and confirm unto the said John Hamilton and Thomas Bernard their heirs and assigns all that and those the lands of Cavagan Park Containing by a Survey lately made thereof One hundred and one acres and on rood plantation measure be the same more or less situate in the Barony of Moydoe and County of Longford and all the estate of him the said Robert Moffett in and to the same to and for and upon the ?? Trusts and purposes in the said Deed set forth, which said Deed and this Memorial are witnessed by William Lennon of the City of Dublin Gent. Robert Moffett seal. Signed, Sealed and delivered in presence of us, Wm. Lennon, Thomas Ferrall, The abovenamed William Lennon maketh oath that he is a subscribing witness to the Deed of which the above is a Memorial and that he saw the same duly executed by the partys thereto and that he also saw th said Robert Moffett duly sign and seal the Above Memorial and delivered the same to John Moore Esq Deputy Regr. the 18th day of July 1785. at or near one o'clock in the afternoon.
