Charleton Marriage Gratuity
Charleton Marriage Gratuity
The Charleton Marriage Gratuity Trust provided a small gift of money for less affluent Protestant couples when they were married. Geographically, the Trust operated principally in Co. Longford but also in adjacent areas of Co. Westmeath, etc. In many cases couples applied for the money long after the actual marriage. The files are in the National Archives, Dublin.
