Resources for Further Research

- LDS Microfilms of use in Co. Longford Research

- County Longford and Its People by David Leahy, published by Flyleaf Press 1990 ISBN 0-9508466-2-7. This is a 'must have'. Most importantly, this book has a Map of the Townlands of Co. Longford, and an index to them. It is normally described as an index to the 1901 Census for Co. Longford, but the map and index are even more useful for research in the 1700s and 1800s.

The above book, along with the 1854 Griffith's Primary Valuation Index for Longford are available directly from the author, David Leahy or from good genealogical bookstores
