Will of William Moffett 1801

I, William Moffett of Cartronlibagh, Co. Longford, Farmer, do make this my last will. As I have provided for my son James Moffett and settled him for life both by cash and landed property, I bequeath to him £5; I leave to my executors in trust for my daughter Isabella Foster otherwise Moffet £75 over which her husband William Foster is to have no power; to my daughter Elizabeth Knox, widow of Richard Knox, deceased, all my interest in the land of Cartronlibagh and all my bonds and bills of Exchange. I appoint Samuel Crawford, Newtown Forbes and Alexander Moffett of Clonmore and James Meighers of Inlmoree to be [executors] of the will. Signed this 15th Nov. 1801

William Moffett

Witnesses: Richard Adams, Elija Adams, Thos. Holmes

Proved 18th Jan. 1802.

Note: This William Moffett appears in a number of lease deeds relating to Cartronlibagh and then to Mullolagher over the period from 1760 until his death. There was confusion with the description of a William Sr. and Jr. - the latter was actually a nephew, son of brother James Moffett.
